Feldene is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
How does this medication work?
Feldene blocks a substance in your body that is involved in causing inflammation and pain in parts of the body where there is arthritis.
What are the beneficial effects of this medication and when should I begin to have results?
What: Feldene may help to relieve arthritis symptoms, such as pain, swelling, and stiffness.
When: Feldene may start to work early in treatment with a gradual increase in response over several weeks. However, everyone responds differently to treatment, so try to be patient and follow your healthcare provider's instructions. It is important that you take Feldene exactly as your healthcare provider has prescribed.
How do I know it is working?
You may feel relief in your arthritis symptoms after you start taking Feldene. This is a good indicator that the medicine is working. Your healthcare provider may also ask you questions to assess how well your symptoms are controlled.
The following is not a full list of side effects. Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, tell your healthcare provider as soon as possible. Only your healthcare provider can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking this medication.

This can happen anytime during use without warning symptoms, and may be life threatening. The risk of getting an ulcer or bleeding increases with past history of stomach ulcers, or stomach or intestinal bleeding with use of NSAIDs; use of steroid medicines, blood thinners, and certain antidepressant medicines; increasing doses of NSAIDs; longer use of NSAIDs; smoking; drinking alcohol; older age; poor health; advanced liver disease; or bleeding problems. Feldene may cause high blood pressure, kidney problems, anemia (low red blood cell counts), high blood potassium levels, eye problems, or unexplained weight gain or swelling.
Feldene may also cause a reversible delay in ovulation in some women.

Do not take Feldene if you have had an asthma attack, hives, or other allergic reaction with aspirin or any other NSAID (such as ibuprofen or naproxen).

Tell your healthcare provider about all prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal medications you are taking before beginning treatment with Feldene. Also, talk to your healthcare provider about your complete medical history, especially if you have asthma, high blood pressure, kidney or liver problems, a history of ulcers or bleeding in your stomach or intestines, or if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

If Feldene is taken with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. Feldene may interact with numerous medications. Therefore, it is very important that you tell your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking.
Do not take Feldene if you are in the late stage of your pregnancy (≥30 weeks). The effects of Feldene during early pregnancy are unknown. Feldene can be found in your breast milk if you take it while breastfeeding. Tell your healthcare provider immediately if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
