Pazeo is an eye drop medicine used to treat itchy eyes associated with allergic pink eye.
How does this medication work?
Pazeo works by blocking the release of a chemical in your body called histamine that causes allergic symptoms.
What are the beneficial effects of this medication and when should I begin to have results?
What: Pazeo has been shown to improve itching of the eyes.
When: Everyone responds differently to treatment, so try to be patient and follow your healthcare provider's instructions. It is important that you use Pazeo exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
How do I know it is working?
You may feel an improvement in your symptoms once you begin using Pazeo. This is a good indicator that your medicine is working.
The following is not a full list of side effects. Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, tell your healthcare provider as soon as possible. Only your healthcare provider can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking this medication.
Common side effects may include: blurry vision, dry eye, eye infection, abnormal sensation in the eye, changes in your taste.
Do not use Pazeo if you are allergic to it or any of its ingredients.
Tell your healthcare provider about all prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal medications you are taking before beginning treatment with Pazeo. Also, talk to your healthcare provider about your complete medical history.
The information below is based on the dosage guidelines your healthcare provider uses. Depending on your condition and medical history, your healthcare provider may prescribe a different regimen. Do not change the dosage or stop taking your medication without your healthcare provider's approval.
Adults and children ≥2 years: The recommended dose is 1 drop in each affected eye once a day.
Use Pazeo exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Do not use it more often or stop using Pazeo without first talking to your healthcare provider.
Do not touch the dropper tip to the eyelids or surrounding areas, as this may contaminate the dropper tip and the solution.
Remove contact lenses before using Pazeo. The preservative in Pazeo may be absorbed by soft contact lenses. You may reinsert your lenses 5 minutes after using Pazeo. Pazeo should not be used to treat contact lens-related irritation.
No significant interactions have been reported with Pazeo at this time. However, always tell your healthcare provider about any medicines you take, including over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
The effects of Pazeo during pregnancy and breastfeeding are unknown. Tell your healthcare provider immediately if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
If you miss a dose of Pazeo, use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and return to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use two doses at once.
Store at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
In the event of a medical emergency call your doctor or 9-1-1 immediately. In the event of overdose, call your doctor or poison control for further instructions.
