Utibron Neohaler is a medicine used for the long-term treatment of symptoms associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including bronchitis (inflammation of the air passages within the lungs) and emphysema (lung disease that causes shortness of breath). Utibron Neohaler contains two medicines: indacaterol and glycopyrrolate.
How does this medication work?
Utibron Neohaler works by relaxing the muscles in your airways.
This medication is not used for emergency or immediate treatment of symptoms of airway narrowing. Always have a short-acting rescue inhaler (such as albuterol) to treat sudden symptoms.
What are the beneficial effects of this medication and when should I begin to have results?
What: Utibron Neohaler may help to improve your lung function.
When: Everyone responds differently to treatment, so try to be patient and follow your healthcare provider's directions. It is important that you use Utibron Neohaler exactly as your healthcare provider has prescribed.
How do I know it is working?
You may feel an improvement in your breathing once you begin using Utibron Neohaler. Your healthcare provider may perform tests to check your lung function and ask you questions to assess how well your symptoms are controlled.
The following is not a full list of side effects. Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, tell your healthcare provider as soon as possible. Only your healthcare provider can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking this medication.
If you have asthma and use Utibron Neohaler, you can have an increased risk of life-threatening effects from asthma problems. Tell your healthcare provider if your breathing problems worsen over time while you are using Utibron Neohaler. Get emergency medical care if your breathing problems worsen quickly or if you use your rescue inhaler medicine, but it does not relieve your symptoms.
More common side effects may include: common cold, high blood pressure.
Less common side effects may include:
Serious allergic reactions, with symptoms such as hives; rash; difficulty breathing; or swelling of your face, tongue, or lips.
Worsening trouble breathing, coughing, or wheezing.
Heart problems, including faster heart rate and higher blood pressure.
Utibron Neohaler may also cause low blood potassium levels.
Do not use Utibron Neohaler if you are allergic to it or any of its ingredients.
Do not use Utibron Neohaler for asthma without the use of a long-term asthma control medicine.
Tell your healthcare provider about all prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal medications you are taking before beginning treatment with Utibron Neohaler. Also, talk to your healthcare provider about your complete medical history, especially if you have heart, thyroid, liver, or kidney problems; high blood pressure; seizures; diabetes; eye problems such as glaucoma; prostate or bladder problems, or problems passing urine; if you are allergic to milk protein; or if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
The information below is based on the dosage guidelines your healthcare provider uses. Depending on your condition and medical history, your healthcare provider may prescribe a different regimen. Do not change the dosage or stop taking your medication without your healthcare provider's approval.
Adults: The recommended dose is 1 inhalation twice a day.
Use Utibron Neohaler exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Do not use it more often or stop using it without first talking to your healthcare provider.
Remove the capsules from the blister immediately before use.
Use Utibron Neohaler at the same time of the day (1 capsule in the morning and 1 capsule in the evening).
Always use the new Neohaler inhaler provided with each new prescription.

Do not use the Neohaler device with any other capsules.
Do not swallow the capsules. Utibron capsules should only be used with the Neohaler device.
If Utibron Neohaler is used with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. Utibron Neohaler may interact with numerous medications. Therefore, it is very important that you tell your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking.
The effects of Utibron Neohaler during pregnancy and breastfeeding are unknown. Do not breastfeed while you are using Utibron Neohaler. Tell your healthcare provider immediately if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
If you miss a dose of Utibron Neohaler, skip the one you missed and return to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use two doses at once.
Store at room temperature, in a dry place. Protect from light and moisture.
In the event of a medical emergency call your doctor or 9-1-1 immediately. In the event of overdose, call your doctor or poison control for further instructions.
