    PDR® Pharmacy Discount Card –
    For Physicians and Office Staff

    The PDR Pharmacy Discount Card program can provide your patients with access to prescription drugs at discounted prices. There is no cost to enroll in the plan, and it can help your patients save up to 75% on their prescription medications at over 60,000 pharmacies nationwide. PDR has enhanced and expanded the program to make it easier for you to help more patients take advantage of this FREE benefit by:

    • Increasing the number of cards we’re distributing, so more patients can participate and save
    • Redesigning the program package to be more patient friendly, with instructions right on the card
    • Providing patient and office support materials including reference information and tips on using the program
    • Adding Spanish language program support – coming soon
     

    Offering the New PDR Pharmacy Discount Card is Simple

    Based on experience, we found the following tips help patients get the most out of their PDR card:

    • Placing the display card stand in a highly visible patient area such as the reception desk, waiting room, exam room, or doctor’s office
    • Discuss the program's benefits with your patients, including how regular card usage can add up. For example, with just 10 prescriptions with savings, and an average discount of $20, the patient’s total savings would add up to $200
    • Encourage your patients to take the new PDR card to the pharmacy to receive all the benefits associated with the card
    • Distribute cards freely. Complimentary card refills are always available

    Who benefits from the card?

    This discount plan is NOT insurance or a Medicare prescription drug plan. The plan is not intended as a substitute for insurance and does not meet creditable coverage requirements under state or federal law. The plan provides discounts at participating pharmacies on certain pharmaceutical supplies, prescription drugs, or medical equipment and supplies. The range of discounts will vary depending on the products received. Members are obligated to pay the pharmacy 100% of the cost for such products at the point of sale. The plan does not pay pharmacies for products provided to members. No enrollment or periodic fees apply. The pharmacy may pay the plan a fee from amounts the pharmacy collects from the member.
